Spring has arrived in Bath, and with it comes the celebrated Bath Decorative Antiques Fair at The Pavilion. A bevy of regular and debut exhibitors will deck their stands with alluring decorative and country house furniture and accessories for the home and garden. Visitors can expect to see a variety of English, French, and Nordic antiques and design, including:

  • large painted cabinets,
  • exquisite model chateaux,
  • chateau furniture,
  • imposing cast iron urns and garden benches,
  • huge farmhouse tables,
  • rustic oak furniture,
  • refined cosmopolitan furniture for city dwellers,
  • library furniture for essential home offices,
  • architectural elements,
  • lighting,
  • luxurious antique textiles and rugs from Asia and the Levant,
  • folk art,
  • mirrors,
  • early glass,
  • and English and Continental pottery.

The fair will also feature period Asian ceramics and a broad range of art, from period portraits to modern and contemporary pieces by renowned artists. With the current trend of mixing antique and vintage pieces with modern and contemporary design, there will be much to inspire designers and homemakers alike.

Dealers in the decorative antiques trade have an innate decorator’s eye and know how to curate their stands to inspire visitors with ideas for their own spaces, both indoors and out. Garden ornamentation for use in interior projects, as well as landscaping, will be a key focus for many exhibitors. Expect to see crusty garden chairs and benches, huge olive jars, wirework tables, stone troughs, elegant jardinieres and planters and ironwork.

Country house furniture is currently enjoying the spotlight in the design world, and when paired with mid-century elements, the look is now! Visitors can expect to see fruitwood dining tables, dressers, and chairs, period occasional tables in exotic woods, beautifully foxed mirrors, and antique textiles found by dealers on the hunt in both the UK and Europe. Attendees will discover new ways to mix antiques and vintage pieces with modern and contemporary design.
